Vehicle Crime - Charge and Remand to Prison |
||
|
On Wednesday evening Fylde Rural Task Force were out on patrol in St Annes, targeting hot spot areas due to reports of a lone male trying car door handles the night before๐
Whilst travelling down Shepherd Road, the team have spotted a suspicious male dressed in dark clothing carrying items.
The team have recognised the male to be someone they know very well๐
Upon sighting the police vehicle, the male has instantly made off on foot๐๐ผโโ๏ธ
A short foot chase has taken place and with the help of an eagle eyed member of the public, we were directed to some items that had been discarded by the male down the alleyway.
The items dumped included a designer bag containing a laptop, mobile phone, wallet, bank cards and cash ๐๐ฐ
Upon making enquiries we were able to locate the owner of the bag, who wasn't even aware it had been stolen. It transpires the offence had happened only minutes before the male was sighted by police.
The team swiftly located and arrested Lewis ANDERTON, age 37 of Newton Road, St Annes๐ฎ๐ผโโ๏ธ
ANDERTON has since been charged with theft from a motor vehicle and remanded to court.
Today, ANDERTON appeared before Lancaster Magistrates Court where he was further remanded to prison.
ANDERTON will remain in prison until his next hearing at Blackburn Magistrates Court on the 11th February 2026.
We're not so sure Santa will be visiting HMP this Christmas, we've heard he doesn't visit those with 'stollen' goods!๐ ๐ป
